Oktoberfest 2016

Join us on September 29th from 2:00pm-9:00pm for our annual Oktoberfest!

From 2:00pm-5:00pm, we will be hosting 3 educational courses that are worth one PDH credit each. The classes will be 45 minutes long with a 10-15 minute Q&A. The courses will not be delayed for later arrivals, so make sure to arrive on time so you don't miss out!

From 5:00pm-9:00pm will be your time to visit with our great sponsors and exhibitors while enjoying an Oktoberfest inspired dinner, an open bar, and games! If you visit all our sponsors and exhibitors you will be entered to win one of 3 door prizes. Make sure to stay until winners are announced!

Tech Session Schedule

2:00pm-3:00pm : "Intelligent Buildings of the Future" - Roger Vaszquez (Zones) and Greg Hillman (Trivium Advisors)

Roger Vasquez worked for Hines for 25 years and was responsible for opening several Latin American offices in addition to building the companies operational, administrative and technology departments. He helped to establish Hines as one of the top premiere real estate services companies in areas such as 3rd party property management, development, consulting in various sectors such as land urbanization, industrial spec and build to suit, commercial office buildings, high rise condominiums, and master planned residential communities.

Greg founded Trivium Advisors, LLC in 2014 and is responsible for setting direction of the company and overall management of operations for intelligent building consulting. Ten years prior to starting Trivium Advisors, Greg was Vice President of Asset Management, in charge of construction project management and development services on behalf of a large real estate investment trust, Tier Reit, in Dallas, TX. Greg brings more than 20 years of experience in the real estate business as a Registered Professional Engineer, Certified Facility Manager, Certified Commercial Investment Member, and LEED Accredited Professional.

3:00pm-4:00pm : "Refrigerants" - Tom Watson (Daikin)

Tom Watson currently serves as Director of the Daikin Learning Institute. Before coming to Daikin, Tom spent 17 years as Chief Engineer, involved in Global New Product Development supporting facilities in China, Japan, Italy and North America.As a licensed professional engineer in the commonwealth of Virginia, Tom holds five patents related to refrigerant, gas and chiller compressors. He has received numerous awards throughout his career, including the ASHRAE Standards Achievement Award in 2004, ASHRAE Exceptional Service Award in 2010, and the F. Paul Anderson Award in 2016 which is ASHRAE’s highest technical award.

4:00pm-5:00pm : "Codes Update" - Brandon Damas (HTS)

• AIA and GBCI approved

Brandon Damas is a Senior Account Manager for HTS. In his current role, he provides engineers and owners in the DFW area with unique design and construction solutions for projects in all commercial and industrial markets. Prior to joining HTS in 2011, Brandon worked for a national, MEP consulting firm in Dallas, Texas for four years. Brandon is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas, is ASHRAE certified with 3 different certifications, and is a LEED accredited professional with an emphasis in building design and construction. Brandon also is a voting member of ASHRAE 90.1 mechanical subcommittee, a provisional corresponding member for T.C. 9.06 (healthcare facilities), and a provisional corresponding member for T.C. 5.05 (air-to-air energy recovery). He has a degree in architectural engineering from Kansas State University. His presentations are AIA and GBCI approved.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

We will have complementary valet for our attendees. The valet will be located in the front parking lot of our office.
